Plan Your Retirement with Our Retirement & FIRE Calculator

Planning for retirement starts with understanding how much you need to save, when you can retire, and how different financial decisions may affect your future income. Our Retirement & FIRE Calculator brings several powerful retirement-planning tools together in one place, designed specifically for U.S. investors.

Use the calculator to estimate your Roth IRA eligibility, explore a Backdoor Roth strategy, calculate your FIRE number using the 4% rule or a custom withdrawal rate, and estimate how long it could take to reach financial independence. The built-in Monte Carlo analysis also provides an estimated probability of your retirement portfolio lasting through your selected retirement period.

You can also compare Social Security claiming strategies at ages 62, 67, and 70 to better understand how the timing of your benefits may affect your retirement income.

Whether you’re just starting to save, actively pursuing Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE), or approaching retirement, these calculators can help you explore different scenarios and make more informed long-term financial decisions.

Important: These results are estimates for educational and planning purposes only and should not be considered personalized tax, investment, or Social Security advice.

US RETIREMENT PLANNING • 2026

Retirement & FIRE Calculator

Estimate Roth IRA eligibility, Backdoor Roth tax exposure, your FIRE number, retirement timeline, Monte Carlo success probability, and Social Security claiming scenarios.

Roth IRA & Backdoor Roth Calculator

Check estimated Roth IRA contribution eligibility based on Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI). When direct Roth contributions are unavailable, estimate a Backdoor Roth conversion and the potential pro-rata tax impact.

Your Traditional IRA and Roth IRA annual contribution limit is generally combined. For 2026, the standard limit is $7,500, or $8,600 for people age 50+.

Roth IRA Eligibility

Enter your information and calculate your estimated eligibility.

Backdoor Roth Tax Estimator

This module estimates the federal income tax associated with converting Traditional IRA money to Roth when the direct Roth contribution is unavailable.

The IRS pro-rata rule generally looks at Traditional, SEP and SIMPLE IRA balances together when determining the taxable share of a Roth conversion. A properly tracked after-tax basis can reduce the taxable amount. Employer 401(k)/403(b) balances are generally not included in this IRA pro-rata calculation.

FIRE Number Calculator

Estimate the portfolio required for financial independence using the 4% rule or your own withdrawal rate, then project the time required to reach that goal.

FIRE Results

Complete the inputs and run the FIRE calculation.

Monte Carlo Retirement Success Analysis

The simulation runs thousands of randomized investment-return paths. It estimates the percentage of simulated portfolios that still have money at the end of the selected retirement horizon.

Run the FIRE calculation to start the simulation.

Pre-Retirement & Social Security Estimator

Estimate a simplified Social Security retirement benefit and compare claiming at age 62, 67, and 70.

For a simplified estimate, enter an AIME expressed in today's wage-indexed dollars. Actual Social Security calculations use detailed indexed earnings records, credits, eligibility rules, annual wage indexing, COLAs, and other SSA rules.

Social Security Summary

Enter your information and calculate an estimated benefit.

Claiming Age Comparison

Social Security Break-Even Analysis

Run the calculation to compare cumulative benefits.
Important: This tool is intended for education and planning estimates only. It does not provide tax, investment, legal, insurance, accounting, or Social Security advice. Real Roth IRA eligibility can depend on compensation, filing status, MAGI definitions, contribution timing, other IRA transactions, and tax rules. The Backdoor Roth calculation is a simplified federal-tax estimate and should not replace professional tax advice.
2026 government reference values are built into the calculator's JavaScript configuration. Review and update these variables for future tax years.

Debt Management & Credit Calculator

The Debt Management & Credit Calculator is an interactive financial planning tool designed to help users understand how different debt repayment strategies may affect their payoff timeline, total interest, and monthly cash flow. It combines a Debt Snowball vs. Debt Avalanche Calculator with a Student Loan Forgiveness Estimator so users can evaluate both consumer debt and education-loan scenarios in one place.

Debt Payoff & Student Loan Calculators

Compare the debt snowball and avalanche methods, then estimate income-driven student-loan payments, forgiveness timing, and a potential tax obligation.

Debt payoff planner

Add your debt accounts

Enter balances, annual percentage rates, and required minimum payments. The model applies your chosen extra payment after all minimums are covered.

This is a planning simulation. It assumes no new charges, stable APRs, and payments made monthly. Creditors may calculate interest differently.

Debt Snowball vs. Avalanche Calculator

Users can add multiple debt accounts, including credit cards, personal loans, medical bills, auto loans, and other balances. Each account includes fields for the debt name, current balance, annual percentage rate, and required minimum payment. Users can also enter an additional monthly payment amount that will be applied after all minimum payments are covered.
The calculator compares two common payoff methods. The debt snowball method prioritizes the account with the smallest balance first, which can create faster psychological wins and visible progress. The debt avalanche method prioritizes the debt with the highest interest rate first, which may reduce total interest when the assumptions remain stable.
The results provide an estimated payoff period for each strategy, modeled interest costs, total starting debt, the estimated interest difference between strategies, and the potential time advantage of one method over the other. Users can add or remove debt accounts dynamically, making the tool suitable for simple or complex repayment situations.

Student Loan Forgiveness Estimator

The student-loan module estimates monthly income-driven repayment amounts based on the user’s loan balance, adjusted gross income, family size, poverty-guideline assumption, discretionary-income percentage, and average interest rate. Users can select a standard IDR forgiveness horizon of 20 or 25 years and enter an assumed tax rate for potentially taxable forgiven balances.
A dedicated Public Service Loan Forgiveness toggle allows users to model a 120-payment checkpoint for qualifying public-service employment scenarios. The calculator separately identifies the estimated monthly payment, total modeled payments, accumulated interest, remaining balance at the forgiveness checkpoint, and a potential tax amount when taxable forgiveness is selected.
The tool treats PSLF as tax-free within the estimator, while standard IDR forgiveness can be modeled as potentially taxable according to the user’s selected tax assumption. Because loan eligibility, employment certification, payment counts, interest capitalization, servicer rules, and federal policy can vary, the results are planning estimates rather than eligibility determinations or legal, tax, or financial advice.

Key Benefits

This calculator helps users compare repayment strategies using their own debt information instead of relying on generic examples. It can support budgeting conversations, debt payoff planning, student-loan scenario analysis, and preparation for discussions with lenders, loan servicers, nonprofit credit counselors, tax professionals, or financial advisers.
The interface is designed for desktop and mobile use, supports unlimited debt-account entries, provides clear comparison outputs, and works as a standalone component inside a WordPress Elementor HTML widget or Custom HTML block. It does not require an external JavaScript library or a separate application build process.

Important Planning Notice

The calculator does not connect to lenders, credit bureaus, federal loan servicers, or government systems. It does not verify debt balances, determine program eligibility, certify public-service employment, submit applications, or guarantee savings. Users should confirm important decisions with an appropriate qualified professional and review current official program guidance before taking action.
